Mercedes Benz #AMGVisionGranTurismo #S65AMG #SLSAMGGTFinalEdition at the 2013 #LAAutoshow

The Mercedes Benz presentation at the Los Angeles auto show this year was high energy with the release of some fine automobiles.

The 2015 S65AMG is powered by a twin turbocharged V12 putting out 621hp and 738 lb-ft of torque and is the 3rd generation of S65's from AMG. The S65 will have 2 more gears than it's predecessor with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission, complete with ECO start/stop function.
Just like the recently launched S63, the S65 will feature a lithium-ion battery which offers advantages over your ordinary every day auto battery. It is more compact and is unaffected by super cold temperatures. The lithium-ion battery replaces both the starter and backup battery, carving over 44 pounds of weight. The S63 and S65 are the first volume produced vehicles to use such a battery.
The S65 will go from 0-60mph in about 4.2 seconds, making int fast, but not as fast as the twin turbo V8 S63 4 matic, which will do the same slightly slower than a McLaren F1 at 3.9 seconds.
